Ludhiana December 19, 2011: Punjabi singer and actor Harbhajan Mann known for his blockbuster Punjabi movies Jee Aayan Nu, Asa Nu Mann Watna Da, Heer ranjha, Jag Jeondeyan De Mele, has visited Aagaz NGO centers in villages at Ludhiana. His visit has delighted the crowd.
On his visit to Aagaz centers in Atiana village where he met women who are working under Aagaz Charitable Foundation. He listened to the stories of hardships of the rural women. He was really moved. But presently working with Aagaz their life has changed.
Later he interacted with the Village Panchayat and had typical winter special Punjabi lunch consiting of saag & maakki ki roti & lassi & makhan prepared by self help group women. Having a word on his movies Mann said “I have always tried to highlight real life issues in my movies. If it’s Harbhajan Mann, people know that they are going to be entertained.” He says, “My first choice between singing and acting and singing is what my answer has been, But one must understand that people see films and listen songs for entertainment and we cannot feed them only social issues-based songs." To make the day more memorable he sang the song “Maawan maawan maa, maavan hundiyan ne rabb da parchavan, maa de anchal mein rabb wasda.”
Aagaz Charitable Foundation, is an Non Government Organisation started by two energetic women, Preeti Kansal and Manmeet Grewal who aim to help the weaker section of the society.
The NGO has also held several free medical and dental check up camps across villages in and around Ludhiana. Aagaz in eight years period has won several prestigious awards like 17th Godfrey Phillips Bravery Award for its courageous activities. |

Ludhiana December 20, 2011: Harbhajan Mann, the heartthrob, is a singing sensation and a punjabi movie actor, Although much known for his singing art has visited Aagaz Charitable Foundation centres at Atiana villages in Ludhiana. He became "Inder" in "Jee Aayan Nu" in 2002 and his success in "Asa Nu Mann Watna Da" stamped him with a label of star in the punjabi movie world, and his recent movies like Mera Pind, and Jag Jeondeyan De Mele are one of the few blockbusters of Punjabi cinema.
On his visit to Heran Govt School, Mann interacted with school students of Sudhar and Atiana. Mr. Mann told school students about the danger and distress caused by drugs. Further he said school days are unforgettable days where one enjoys alot. Harbhajan said that one should keep trying in life and success is sure to come. “Nothing is impossible in life, what matters is the time. One should not lose patience”, said Harbhajan Mann. Navjot Singh one of the student asked Mann regarding his dreams, he remarked His dream is to see Punjabi cinema achieving its place in Indian regional cinema. Another student Harpreet asked Harbhajan Mann regarding the status of Punjabi cinema, He feels that Punjabi cinema has finally found its status amongst the audience, “There is no dearth of good scripts and the production standards too are rising.” To cheer up the students he sang song “aaye din sona pyaara pyaara mudh liyaound aukhe na” the students were highly mesmerized. At the end of his interaction with the students he made them promise to lead a healthy and a durg free life.
